Carcinoma of the Thyroid in Children

Abstract

|
|
Although thyroid carcinoma is a unique malignant process particularly in the young patient because of its long natural history and relatively "benign" behavior, the carcinoma is frequently firsted manifested by cervical adenopathy due to nodal metastases and the primary tumor may not be obvious on physical examination. Presented here is a nine-year-old girl with prominent metastatic carcinoma in the right neck from the. occult primary thyroid carcinoma.
